With the implementation of China’s new fertility policies, the number of high-age pregnancies has increased, leading to a rise in pregnancy-related complications and a growing demand for assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Additionally, for families having a second or third child, the need for child-rearing support continues to grow. These factors have raised significant concerns among experts: What impact does having older parents have on infant health? Are children conceived via assisted reproductive technologies more prone to illnesses? How do changes in the intrauterine environment affect children’s growth and development?
To address these issues related to female reproductive health and child development, in March 2023, China officially launched the national key R&D program “Child Development and Growth Tracking Study” As part of this initiative, the project aims to establish a large-scale integrated platform for tracking the growth and development of 500,000 children. This includes creating a 100,000-sample cohort library that includes three generations (grandparents, parents, and children) under the new fertility policy, as well as multi-omics predictive models for common infant and child diseases, to meet the research needs.
As the technological partner for this project, Hyperchain Technology has built a Multi-Center Medical Information Sharing Platform based on the BitXMesh platform. This system utilizes the combination of blockchain and privacy-preserving computing technologies to enable trusted sharing and collaboration of research data while significantly improving the value of scientific data. Through health data tracking across the entire lifecycle, researchers can identify potential genetic health risks in children and offer personalized preventive and intervention measures.
